Cokes Green was originally built for the secretary of the neighbouring Harewood Downs Golf Club, a country house golf club for the Palace of Westminster and legal profession with the nobility playing a major part in its early years.

Situation
Cokes Green is located within an area noted for its outstanding natural beauty with many miles of country walks and bridleways close by. Cokes Lane is a turning off the A413 which links Amersham to both Chalfont St Giles and Chalfont St Peter as well as Gerrards Cross. Little Chalfont, approximately one mile distant, provides a range of local shops as well as Chalfont & Latimer station offering a Metropolitan and Chiltern Line service to London Baker Street and Marylebone stations.
