SITUATION
Fenstanton lies between Cambridge and Huntingdon just to the north of the A14. The village is well served with good local shops including baker, butcher, grocer, post office and doctor's surgery as well as a number of pubs and restaurants. More comprehensive facilities are available at Huntingdon and the University city of Cambridge. For the commuter, access to the A14 is about 1 mile away, connecting to the A1, M1 and M6 to the north and the M11 and M25 to the south, providing fast access to Stansted Airport and London. The area is also well served for sporting pursuits with golf courses at St Ives and Bar Hill and sailing and wind surfing at Grafham Water. There are schools for all age groups within the area, including a private day nursery, infant and junior school within the village and many notable independent schools in Cambridge.

DESCRIPTION
Formerly a vicarage, the house was built in the early part of the 19th century for the vicar, Thomas Bourdillon and is a fine example of Georgian architecture with a perfectly symmetrical facade. Constructed with gault brick elevations under a hipped slate roof, there are generous boarded eaves with modillions and deep sash windows with glazing bars.
Purchased un-modernised in 1985, the present owners carried out a painstaking programme of restoration and modernisation to create an outstanding family home. This included underpinning the main house under the supervision of structural engineers and adding an architect designed triple garage and garden storage complex. Period features such as moulded dentil cornicing and architraves were enhanced or, where necessary, replaced by exacting stands by Cooks of Cambridge.
The elegant accommodation is typical of the period with well proportioned rooms and high ceilings. There are many fine features including an elegant staircase, open fireplaces, picture and dado rails, deep skirtings and timber foldback shutters to the sash windows.
Benefitting from gas fired central heating and a four oven Aga to the fitted kitchen, the property also has a security alarm system, a number of telephone lines and ISDN line.
