It was a series of happy coincidences which brought the owners and this house together. They were looking to move back into the country and saw the For Sale notice outside this period cottage, built in the 1700s. They came to view, adored its setting on this quiet lane in this delightful village, recognised its potential and went to the village pub to discuss, where, coincidentally, they met the local builder who knew all about the cottage. Their decision was made and, along with the expertise of the builder, together with a watchful eye from the local planners, a large project was undertaken to renovate and significantly extend the cottage to become this splendidly comfortable family home. This was thirty years ago, during which time the cottage has been continually maintained and enhanced, always with empathy, to ensure that its character has remained intact and in which the mixture of old and new meld stylishly together. The spacious hall provides a warm welcome, with both the sitting room and the separate dining room being bright and spacious with exposed beams being retained. The galley style kitchen/breakfast room is sunny and modern and quite delightful and opens onto a lovely terraced area, containing a water feature; a perfect space for quiet relaxation listening to the bubbling water.

Athough Hellidon is a small village, it has a strong, caring community with the church, village hall and excellent local pub, being the main focal points. Many popular annual events take place such as the Summer Fete, Christmas Fayre and Carol service, with regular pub quiz nights taking place. In addition, on the outskirts of the village, is Hellingdon Lakes for golf and other leisure pursuits. Daventry is just 5 miles away and contains a full range of shops, supermarkets and schools, but Leamington Spa is quite close with its lovely independent shops and restaurants. Being so centrally placed, access to several major roads and motorways is very convenient with several main line stations being within easy reach.
