Redmire is a pretty village and civil parish within the Richmondshire district of North Yorkshire which over looks Penhill and is situated next to the village of Castle Bolton. There is evidence of an Iron Age settlement in the village. It is now the terminus for the Wensleydale Railway which runs east along the valley.
