DESCRIPTION
2 Myrtle Cottage is an attached period cottage with origins dating back, we believe, to the early 19th Century. Despite its age and character, the property is not Listed. History suggests it was one of a pair of former miners cottages, with later extension to the rear, as well as a more recent extension to the side by the current owners. Though there is a front porch with formal front door, the favoured entrance is a stable door to the rear of the property. The kitchen, with fitted units, inset Belfast sink, space for cooker and further appliances has a utility room off it. The kitchen leads to the dining room with feature fireplace with inset wood burner. The sitting room has an open fireplace as well as window seat. The property has two staircases, the original leading to two double bedrooms on the first floor. To the left hand side of the property which is the newer extension, a further staircase leads to the third bedroom with wooden floor and airing cupboard.
Due to its elevated position there are some excellent views from the front windows across the surrounding countryside, and down the Teign Valley.
OUTSIDE
A pedestrian gate gives access to a path leading to both the front door and around the left hand side of the property to the rear door. The rear garden comprises large paved courtyard area. There is a shed and vegetable plot.

DIRECTIONAL NOTE
From Exeter proceed on the B3212 towards Moretonhampstead passing through the village of Longdown. After a few miles, at Farrants Cross, turn left onto the B3193 signposted Christow, Chudleigh and Bridford. Proceed to the T-junction and turn left onto the Teign Valley Road. Continue for approximately 2 miles and take the 2nd right hand turn signposted Christow. Proceed up the hill turning left to Church Lane. Go up the hill for a couple of hundred yards and 2 Myrtle Cottage is on the right at the top.
